With all the focus these days on finding spammers and locking them up, it is important not to cross the line. The simplest way to avoid this problem is to only email to people that have agreed to receive emails from you. Also be very clear that they will be receiving mail on a regular basis. Also, don't over do it, I don't like to send to send out mail more than once or twice a month. Lastly, make sure that you are clear on how to stop receiving emails. What some people don't understand is that, if the person doesn't want your email then you are just wasting your time email marketing to them.
Email marketing is a great way to get repeat exposure. Some say that people need to here about you at least seven times before you can judge if your product is going to convert. So use
email marketing but also use common sense.
